local outreach efforts
at southwood
At Southwood Church, we strive to show the love of Jesus and the love of the Southwood Church Family in practical ways. When focusing on the needs of those closer to home - we take a mixed approach of offering financial support to local organizations and getting out there and serving our neighbors. Christmas Food and Gift Baskets

During a recent Christmas season, we collected financial gifts from our church family and used the funds to procure food bags that included all the ingredients for a Christmas dinner, five other meals, breakfast foods, drinks and dessert. Our children's ministry colored special bags that we filled with candies and small toys for each child in the family. 95 adults and 157 children were served during this outreach.
Firefighter Gift Bags

During an outreach to some of our local first responders, we made gift bags that were distributed to 250 firefighters at Greenwood and Indianapolis Fire Stations in an event we called "Firefighter February". It was a real blessing to pray for and put a smile on the face of so many of our hard-working men and women that serve our community.
Nursing Home Outreach

Southwood provided gift bags to Aspen Trace Nursing Home in Greenwood. The 285 bags were enough for all of their staff and residents during our nursing home outreach.
